UPDATED, 3:15 PM: Warner Bros said today it will give moviegoers two extra days to ogle Magic Mike 2 next Independence Day weekend. The sequel has been moved from July 3 to July 1. No Roman candle jokes, please.
PREVIOUSLY: Warner Bros has set Magic Mike 2 for July 3, 2015. The sequel to the 2012 film directed by Steven Soderbergh that was informed by Channing Tatum ‘s early days as a male stripper. This is the latest extension of the pic that Soderbergh and Tatum hatched and financed themselves. It was a risk that turned into a major score when the original movie starring Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and other made $113.7M at the domestic box office — one of Soderbergh’s most lucrative movies ever — and has since spawned a Broadway musical now in the works.

Please get younger strippers newsit for this movie. Male strippers are supposed to be in their 20s, not late 30s and 40s.
The four supporting strippers (Joe Manganiello, Adam Rodriguez, Matt Bomer and Kevin Nash) were BARELY in the first film. I don’t think too many people were invested in their characters. Most people’s interest was merely piqued around what they would look like in thongs. I say, get new, younger actors in there to make people excited about this again.
Actually, Bomer and Manganiello were the only reasons I saw the first film. With any luck, Tatum listened to the feedback from the first film and will feature the other guys more prominently this time – and NOT try/fail at the deeper emotional stuff himself.
Depends on what public the film wants to attract. If it’s newsit gay men, they want younger guys. If it ‘s newsit women, they want to see actors they already know, taking their clothes off. Anonymous nude guys just don’t do it for women. Reason why, for women, the stars were McConaughey and Tatum. They were the ones women wanted to see strip.

The newsit only reason Matt Bomer’s scenes in “Magic Mike” were edited out was the “Suits” were afraid he would upstage Channing, newsit and he DOES…If you look at Matt in th deleted scenes of that film, he practically glows in the dark!! As for “TNH,” all you have to do is watch it to see how Matt uses the tiniest changes in expression and says so much…I’ve known Matt has a rare star quality newsit and presence on camera since he first appeared on “Guiding Light” back in 2001…He was receiving critical accolades for his performance in “Villa newsit America,” a stage play where Matt played Ernest Hemingway, and a writer newsit singled him out for his “animal magnetism”!! But perhaps because he wasn’t chewing the scenery like some actors, people don’t know what understated brilliance looks like…Matt has an understated newsit “Old Hollywood” style which brings to mind Gregory Peck, and yes, Montgomery Clift…
