A few months ago I was fascinated by a trilogy of books about zombies Apocalypse Z. Its author, Manuel Loureiro, desaventures narrated the adventures of a young lawyer who tried to flee the epidemic that seized the planet in the blink of an eye. It was an entertaining and forceful prose, quick and agile, which helps to consume novels in a few hours. Someone like Stephen King has named Spanish Vaca Films and producer is now finalizing the details for Apocalypse Z makes the leap to the big screen. However, before coming World War Z, starring Brad Pitt -s'estrena August- 2. In order to enjoy the film with more rigor, I do the same process with Apocalypse Z. First I wanted to read the book written by Max Brooks, son of Mel Brooks, and certainly after I get a mad desire caf to go to see the adaptation.
Well, boy, what a fiasco. What a novel so bad, at least from my point of view. Has neither introduction nor knot or outcome. caf They are a series of short stories, very short -three or four pages long on a zombie survivors of war who explain their experiences through interviews. At the beginning you can make a certain charm, but in the end you've just tired. There are too many characters, unconnected with each other, and the plot is too weak. Everything was made to stop the book in half.
Fortunately the film does not follow this pattern. It is a portrait linear single protagonist, Brad Pitt, who plays a scientist UN Gerry Lane, who has to travel around the world to try to stop the Zombie pandemic. The images we have seen so far are spectacular with thousands of undead running behind his decision as if they were the same Usain Bolt.
They Sons of Anarchy and classic 80s with Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Van Damme. And above all, anticahierista !!! Web: http://www.caperrada.com Twitter: Facebook https://twitter.com/marcbataller: https://www.facebook.com/marc.b.serra 5 comments
Man, you want me to tell you Marc. The argument of the book is very clear, what happens is that it forces the reader to think and make connections to imagine what really happened in the world. The introduction is not discovered until the second quarter of the book, the above is a preamble and final epic, what happens is that it can seem slow.
The book is not brown or even wrong (but you may not like certain readers, respectable thing) and I'm sorry to say it, but this is an axiom in the making. This, however, remains far from the fast-food literature and is a bestseller in use, because apart from being very well written caf and entertaining for the most part, requires something good (for if not great) books require somewhat readers: think, invite reflection and in this case, use the report to establish connections, which I'm caf sorry to tell you but it proves not to have done.
Moreover, the premise is clear from minute 0. The structure has been announced from the prologue and is clearly not a novel with a classic structure. It is a chronicle of the zombie apocalypse. A false report writing and documented caf hell based on the universe ROMERO and built from several different interviews with survivors of the catastrophe, the merit of creating characters long round to force short stories. Respect life stories (interviews-chronic) or rather the number of pages of these, your statement is true, these are mostly longer than you describe, there are more than 30 and few of 2, 3 or 4. Depending on what you wish to narrate. We must also say that not all interviews are just as agile and relevant, since the purpose of the book is to show us an overall picture globalized world and includes rich and poor countries with different cultures and political ideologies. In these countries live from the bar drunk, the leader of a superpower, soldier or military leader, passing psychopathic mercenary turn, teen maladaptive, the traditional family, the disabled or the top-model for set an example.
To conclude, it is easy word to say "this sucks" and justify it with the fact that the structure does not meet the claims of the reader. If David Mann were alive would be able ressucitar the dead and send them to you in writing. I'm sorry to say but the post is unfounded or at least rigor.
PS: For those who dare to plunge into politics and literature very wrapped zombie bastard, this is your book. For those who prefer to take a straw in seeing Brad Pitt Saves the World
